Clem and VictorTrouble Beach, July 2016

I love my “destination weddings”!

This summer, the destination was France and more precisely Normandie and the beautiful Deauville where Clémence and Victor decided to tie the knot.

I always feel extremely honoured to be chosen as a wedding photographer and be part of people's special day and this was no exception.

I arrived late on the Friday and before I got to settle into my hotel room, it was time to go out to meet up with Clémence and Victor's friends and family in Trouville for a pre-wedding gathering. Straight away I felt their day would be very special as there was so much laughter, happiness and emotions in the air as well as Champagne and Cider of course!

I started early on the Saturday morning to make sure I had all my equipment, memory cards and spare batteries in my bag and then set off to the hairdresser to meet up with the bride and her bridesmaids, which was a buzz of excitement before heading to the Golf Barriere Club House for a spot of lunch.

The Golf Club Barriere Hotel was absolutely stunning, a pure delight for a wedding photographer!

I then headed off to the Mairie, where I met up with nervous Victor and the friends and family. The sun was shining, Fleur the flower girl was excited at the idea of assisting the bride. What a ceremony! It was so perfect! We had all the elements for a perfect and happy wedding.

After a few photos in front of the Mairie, we all headed back to the Golf Barrière Club House for drinks, canapés, more photos, more drinks and more food and more laughter.

It really was a beautiful place to have the wedding reception. The friends and family clearly had a superb day all trying to communicate both in English and French. It was the early hours before I left them to it and headed back to my room.

Tous mes voeux de bonheur!

Wishing you many happy years together Clémence and Victor!

My first blog ever! https://albanebrandphotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2015/10/my-first-blog-ever Just marriedJust marriedAt the Grand, Folkestone Welcome to Albane Photography First Blog!

After many years of talking about doing a blog, here we go! I'm finally ready! Well ready...ish!

I think I'm a better photographer than I am a writer so I thought I'd start with using a quote by 19th Century photojournalist Alfred Eisenstaedt which I can relate to:

"When I have a camera in my hand I know no fear."

Before a wedding, I always get butterflies in my stomach, I get very nervous... I want to do my best for the bride and groom who chose me as their wedding photographer to tell the story of their day. I can only have one shot at it. No mistakes allowed. But as soon as I get my Nikon camera out of the bag, it seems that all the fears and worries go and I feel like a different person. Someone more confident, slightly bossy who won't hesitate to shout to gather everyone for the big group photo as quickly as possible or climb up on anything to get my shots.

And as soon as the camera goes back in the bag, I'm back to being Albane, the more reserved person. How bizarre!

But one thing remains both when I'm photographing and when the camera is down... I always follow my emotions, try to put people at ease and always give my all! No half measures! I'm not sure if the emotional side is because of my continental blood but I believe this has helped me over the years to develop my style as a photographer...

So now you know the real Albane!
